STEM OLYMPIAD SESSIONS 4-6

Olympiad sessions meet on Saturdays. They all include a unique special treat. Examples may include: outdoor field exploration, lab activities, design and construction activities, and even guest speakers! Based on the theme, olympians will receive materials for an engineering model, or materials for conducting a lab experiment.

 

Participants work in pods to collaboratively learn academic content, construct engineering designs, conduct sophisticated labs, and prepare brilliant group presentations, which they will share with their fellow students at the conclusion of each season! Their efforts will result in everyone leaving with at least one or more finished products: hands-on build, a lab experiment, a slideshow and/or portfolio of their work.

Registration - September 8th - December 18th

THE STEM OLYMPIAD program starts December 7th and ends April 19th.

We will be closed for the holidays (TBD).

THEME 4 - Experimental Design

 

Grades 4-6:

Dynamic Rollercoasters and Air Cannons

Where are my Engineers? We made plans!

​

Do you have what it takes to make the best rollercoasters and air cannons ever? Oh Yeah?! Then let's forge ahead, learn some physics and construct some dynamic designs!

 

Olympians will learn Newton's Law's of Motion, while developing their critical thinking skills as they analyze how to manipulate the forces of gravity and friction.
